Hi, welcome to my personal home page. My name is Damir Vandic and on this site you can find information about me and my research.
Currently, I am an ERIM PhD student at the Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR), the Netherlands. I have obtained the cum laude master degree in Economics and Informatics from the same university in 2010, specializing in Computational Economics. During the master programme, the focus of my research was on efficient Web product search using Semantic Web technologies.
Furthermore, I am an active member of the Erasmus Centre for Business Intelligence unit and I continue my research in my PhD track. My PhD research aims to investigate the use of Semantic Web vocabularies for efficient product discovery and presentation on the Internet. At the current moment, this is a laborious and time-intensive process for the users who aim to discover their desired products. Other research interests are related to such as machine learning, the Semantic Web foundations and applications, Web information systems, and decision support systems.
